Its expertise is backed by 125 years of product testing. ETL certification confirms that a product meets the necessary safety requirements and has been tested by an independent third-party laboratory.

Both UL and ETL certifications aim to ensure that products meet specific safety standards in the U.S. and Canada. These certifications require rigorous testing of electrical products to evaluate their performance, durability, and resistance to potential hazards. Whether a product carries a UL or ETL mark, it indicates that it has been tested and evaluated for safety by reputable organizations. The specific certifications required for power in the U.S. are UL-1449, UL-498A, and UL-1363. The specific certifications required for power in Canada are CSA C22.2 no.308, C22.2 no.42, C22.2 no.269.3.

Independent Third-Party Testing

UL and ETL certifications involve independent third-party testing. In both cases, the testing is conducted by certified laboratories that are not affiliated with the manufacturer or the seller of the product.
